Philippians 4:21
"Greet every saint in Christ Jesus" the brethren who are with me greet you.
- They were the example, as are we.
4:21 is a ministry within a ministry that gives students the opportunity to serve one another. Serving one another by giving out the same things we ourselves would like to receive. "For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all that I might win the more."
Practically:
- Greeting new students
- Passing out bulletins, flyers, new student cards, Bibles etc.
- Inviting new and regular students to join in pre-service games
- Being aware of students’ needs and praying for them
- Inviting students to sit with you
- Pre-service prayer
- Service opportunity outside of Velocity
- 4:21 fun events
4:21 – What it isn’t:
- Its not hard
- Its not being a Bible genius
- Its not an overwhelming commitment
4:21 – What it is:
- Compassion-
-"Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?" Matt 18:33
- Courteous -
-Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 1 Peter3:8
- Contagious-
-The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, "Follow Me." John 1:43
-"Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." John 1:46
- Compelling-
-"For the love of Christ compels us" 2 Corinthians 5:14
