Check out this video for an idea of what Velocity is all about:

our mission
Velocity is aimed at ministering to Middle School students right where they're at in a way that's relevant to them. It's about strengthening their relationship with God first and with each other second. Velocity is about pushing them to go further and faster in the faith.

what we do
Bible study is at the core of what we do. The main part of each service is worship and Bible study. We also often play some type of game or have a contest. We meet 5 times each week for our own middle school services. Each service is geared toward middle schoolers and their world.
Throughout the month, there are events outside of services for student to be involved in – discipleship groups, service set-up crew, 4:21 greeting ministry, lock-ins, lock-outs, snowboarding & skiing retreats, summer camps, mission trips, outreaches to the community, galactic bowling, broomball, guy-specific events, girl-specific events, and so much more.

why we do it
We aim to take the “normal” church experience to a new level. After all, if this is Jesus' church, we've got a lot to be excited about! We try to make Velocity exciting, welcoming, accepting, and supportive. Velocity is a place the students can come to let go of their burdens, not worry what people on the outside think, and focus on their relationships with God and each other.

how we do it
Students are a HUGE part of ministering to students. It's great for a leader to talk to a new student, but it means so much more and much more effective when students interact on their own level. We involve the students any way possible – greeting, setting up for service, outreaches, etc.
We also provide many places and ways for students to connect with other students through fun events, mission trips, community outreaches, and more. Students are always looking for something to entertain themselves, so what better way than to get them to church or with some good friends doing something productive? We try to provide any outlet we can to help the students do this.
In addition, we have a very strong leadership team. Without the leaders, ministry doesn't happen near as effectively. Leaders are a VITAL role of what happens at Velocity. They're involved in the students weekly and daily lives through services, but even more intimately through our year-long in-home discipleship groups. That is where so much ministry takes place on a more personal level.

what should I expect
Expect to have a good time! This isn't your ordinary church service. We put a high emphasis on worship and Bible study, but it's not in any way boring. Bring your Bible, bring a friend, or just come and check it out. Either way, when you show up, you're guaranteed to have a good time!
